Participating in the Shop-Window project I intended to exhibit a work that takes advantage of the opportunities of a small street. People in the neighborhood can see the shop window several times a day therefore I planned to display a slow process. I attached a loop to the stem of a pot plant. Letting the plant hang, the pot falls down to the ground with the soil in it, while the plant with it’s roots remained in the air. This quick and practical way of execution thus becomes a long and self-serving torture. The execution of the plant induces an anti-violence atmosphere. Rejection of any kind of violence gives a moral superiority to the person who takes steps against the aggression. In this way the spectator(passer-by) becomes part of a moral stabilization and can blame the exhibiting person.
